If you're a student, a non-profit or an NGO, Fireflies gives you 10% off — and unlike a lot of 'discount' pages, this one is real. It applies to the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans, on both monthly and annual billing, so you can stack it on top of the already-cheaper annual price.

The reason most articles won't tell you this confidently is that Fireflies' own help-center page on the discount was last updated roughly a year ago, so writers hedge on whether it still applies. We didn't want to guess: we confirmed directly with Fireflies on 28 August 2026 that this discount is still current. Fireflies' help center (guide.fireflies.ai) documents the eligibility discount, and their team confirmed it remains active for students, non-profits and NGOs.

Two Ways to Claim the 10% Off

There are two routes, and which one you use depends on whether you've already paid.

Before you pay (the cleaner route): sign up for Fireflies using an email on your organisation's domain — your university or non-profit address, not a personal Gmail — then email support@fireflies.ai and ask for a discounted invoice for the plan you want. Getting the discount applied before your first payment avoids any back-and-forth over refunds.

If you've already upgraded: email support@fireflies.ai from your organisation address, explain that you qualify as a student, non-profit or NGO, and ask them to refund the 10% difference on what you've already paid. It works, but it's an extra step compared with sorting it out before you pay.

The Catch: You Need an Organisation Email

The discount is verified through your organisation-domain email address, which is where a small cost can sneak in. A custom-domain email — you@youruniversity.edu or you@yournonprofit.org — usually means your institution runs paid Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. If you only have a personal Gmail or Outlook address, you won't be able to prove eligibility the standard way.

For most students and non-profit staff this isn't a problem, because the organisation already provides the email. But if you're a very small non-profit without a domain email, factor in that setting one up carries its own (modest) cost before the 10% is worth chasing.

Is the 10% Worth the Effort?

On Pro at $10/seat/month billed annually, 10% is about a dollar a month per seat — small in isolation, but it stacks with the annual discount and scales with team size and plan tier, so on Business or a multi-seat Enterprise deal it adds up to a real number over a year.

The honest verdict: if you already have an organisation email and qualify, claim it before you pay — it's a five-minute email for a standing discount. If you'd have to set up a paid domain email just to get it, the 10% probably isn't worth that on its own. Either way, it's a genuine saving that most 'Fireflies coupon' pages either miss or wrongly dismiss.
